Oklahoma Bird Specimen Records was a database of bird specimens collected in Oklahoma and housed at various museums in the state and around the world. The database did not include records housed in the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.
Museum records in the database included those from Cameron University (CC), University of Central Oklahoma (CSU), East Central State University (EC), Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NW), Oklahoma State University (OSU), Oklahoma Panhandle State University (PS), Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SE), Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SW), the University of Oklahoma Biological Station, and the University of Tulsa (TU). Gary Schnell and Scott Wood from the Survey gathered records from these collections between 1979 and 1981. The database also included specimens originally deposited in the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History that were given to or exchanged with other collections throughout the world. (Please see the contact information for these collections). The latest records in the database are from 1981.
